FAQs

Do I need any martial arts experience?

No. Aikido is beginner-friendly, and you’ll learn the fundamentals step by step. No prior martial arts experience is required.

Do I need to be in good shape?

Not at all. You’ll develop strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination through training. Classes can be adapted to different ages, fitness levels, and abilities.

Is Aikido a form of self-defense?

Yes, but it’s more than that. Aikido teaches you how to move, maintain balance, respond to force, and work with a partner. Training emphasizes awareness, control, and resolving conflict using only as much aggression and force as necessary.

What makes Aikido different from other martial arts?

Aikido focuses on movement, timing, balance, and connection rather than competing against an opponent. Training is cooperative, allowing students to challenge themselves while helping their partners learn and improve.
