At Henderson Aikido & Yoga, children’s classes are active, fun, and movement-focused, while introducing students to the fundamentals of Aikido in an age-appropriate way.
Our program uses Aikido to help children develop coordination, confidence, focus, discipline, and positive social skills, all while building friendships and enjoying their time on the mat.

MON–THU · 7:00 PM
TUE & THU · 8:00 AM - Open Mat
SAT · 11:00 AM
*Classes are 50 minutes. Open Mat is 35-45 minutes.
Our adult and teen classes are built around thoughtful training, and practical movement. Students develop Aikido through partner practice, repetition, and hands-on instruction while learning to move with greater balance, awareness, and control.
Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or bringing experience from another martial art, Aikido provides an opportunity to build confidence, improve fitness, develop focus, and connect with a supportive training community.
YOGA
TUE & THU · 5:00 PM
SAT · 9:00 AM
*Classes are 45 minutes.
Our yoga classes blend Yin, Hatha, and Restorative yoga to create a balanced practice for both body and mind.
Classes combine gentle movement, mindful breathing, longer-held poses, and restorative practices to build strength and flexibility, release tension, and promote relaxation. These movements also complement our Aikido practice, helping students develop greater ease and awareness in rolling, moving, throwing, and training.
Whether you’re new to yoga or have an established practice, our classes offer a welcoming space to slow down, reconnect, and feel your best.
Weapons
At Henderson Aikido & Yoga, the ken (wooden sword), jo (staff), and tanto (wooden training knife) are used as training tools to deepen students’ understanding of Aikido movement and principles.
A key part of this training is Ri Ai (理合),understanding how the principles of Aikido connect between open-hand and weapons practices. Students explore how the same movements, timing, and relationships apply whether training empty-handed or with a weapon.
Weapons training adds another dimension to Aikido, helping students develop greater awareness, precision, and understanding of the art.
